How to make Boiled Peanuts

Boiled Peanuts - ( Goober Peas)

Ingredients:
2 lbs of Fresh Green Peanuts not Raw Peanuts.
1/3 cup of Salt
1 Gallon of Water

A Big pot that has a cover with steam vent/

Directions:
This is very easy, even my sister's can boil water. Pour the gallon of water into a large pot, add the salt and turn stove light up to high. Add the Nut's and let them come to a good rolling boil. Cover and turn the heat down to medium.

The longer they cook the better. I let mine boil for 2 hours, then turn the light down low and let them simmer for another 2 hours. Cut off the burner, (Technically the peanuts are ready for eating now, and I do usually try a few ) then let the peanuts soak in the Brine (salty water) for another hours or so, then chow down. This allows the peanuts to absorb the water and get a little salty taste.

If you have more than you can eat, refrigerate or freeze left over nuts in the Brine until you're ready for more. If frozen let them thaw out before reheating. If needed add more water.
